As of April 12, Georgia has vaccinated 20,622 people against coronavirus, Report's Georgian Service informs, citing the head of the country’s National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Chief Epidemiologist Amiran Gamkrelidze.
According to him, 928 people were vaccinated over the past day. In total, only 1,200 people were immunized in the South Caucasus country over the last week.
The number of vaccinated people is below the required level. At this stage, up to 4,000 people should be vaccinated daily, so that herd immunity can be formed in March-April next year.
Georgia started vaccination on March 15. The country uses the AstraZeneca and Pfizer jabs.
