Azerbaijan, German academy discuss interfaith dialogue and cooperation

Chairman of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations of Azerbaijan, Ramin Mammadov, met with Mayssoun Zein Al Din, Executive Director of the Academy for International Affairs of North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany), Report informs, citing the committee.
The meeting focused on potential cooperation in the field of religious education and the promotion of interfaith and intercultural dialogue.
Ramin Mammadov provided detailed information about Azerbaijan's state policy on regulating state–religion relations, ensuring freedom of religious belief, and preserving multicultural values. He emphasized that Azerbaijan is home to over 2,000 mosques, 16 churches, and 7 synagogues.
He also noted that the protection of historical and cultural heritage, including the restoration and preservation of religious sites and monuments, remains a national priority. Mammadov shared facts about Azerbaijan's initiatives to promote interreligious dialogue and cooperation on international platforms.
Mayssoun Zein Al Din commended the religious and spiritual environment in Azerbaijan and the country's efforts to regulate state–religion relations. She praised the regular state support provided to religious communities as a positive tradition and stressed the importance of promoting Azerbaijan's multiculturalism model globally.
