Azerbaijan, EU discuss draft deal on mine action, water, transport

Discussions have been held on a draft financing agreement between Azerbaijan and the European Commission aimed at supporting mine clearance, water resource management, and the sustainable development of the transport sector.
According to Report, the talks took place during a meeting between Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy Marta Kos.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the ongoing development of economic relations, highlighting the European Union as one of Azerbaijan's main foreign trade partners. Successful cooperation in the fields of energy and investment was also noted.
The two parties emphasized the significant potential for expanding cooperation in the transport sector and discussed investment opportunities in energy, digital economy, transportation, and the private sector under the EU's new global connectivity strategy, the Global Gateway initiative.
