Myanmar military creates new State Administrative Council

The organizers of the military coup in Myanmar have announced the creation of the State Administrative Council - a new body under the state of emergency, Report informs, referring to the Myanmar Times newspaper.
The council consists of 11 members and is chaired by Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Armed Forces, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
The council was created within the 419th section of the 2008 constitution, which provides that the commander-in-chief, to whom sovereign power was transferred, has the right to exercise legislative, executive, and judicial powers.
