Australia expands sanctions against Russia

The Australian Government has imposed additional targeted financial sanctions and travel bans on three Russian officials linked to the prison where Alexei Navalny died, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Australia.
The list of new sanctions includes Valery Boyarinov, deputy director of the Federal Penitentiary Service, Igor Rakitin, head of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, and others.
Reportedly, the sanctions coincide with the funeral ceremony for Navalny, which is scheduled to be held on March 1.
Australia is calling for an independent and transparent investigation into the politician's death.
