FAO official praises Azerbaijan's renovated Central Laboratory

Viorel Gutu, Assistant Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia, said he was very pleased to visit the renovated Central Laboratory in Azerbaijan, Report informs.

He made the remarks while getting acquainted with the activities of the Central Laboratory, renovated under the FAO-Azerbaijan Partnership Programme.

Speaking to journalists, Gutu said the laboratory is a highly important facility for both the government and the agricultural sector and farmers:

"I was impressed by the range of analyses carried out at this laboratory and was very pleased to have the opportunity to learn about its activities. These undoubtedly contribute to the development of Azerbaijan's economy. In particular, I would like to emphasize the importance of such laboratories for developing an efficient agricultural sector, ensuring high productivity and profitability, as well as making responsible investments in one sector or another. Ultimately, all of this produces results for farmers and the community as a whole."
