Kimi Antonelli ends Azerbaijan GP qualifying early

Mercedes driver and championship leader Kimi Antonelli was unable to continue in qualifying for the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

According to Report, the Italian advanced to the second qualifying session but did not take part in it. Antonelli pulled his car off to the side of the track and watched the session from the sidelines.

Six other drivers also ended their qualifying runs in the first session: Gabriel Bortoleto, Nico Hülkenberg, Fernando Alonso, Sergio Perez, Lance Stroll and Valtteri Bottas.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will conclude on September 26.
