The World Health Organization (WHO) expects mass COVID-19 vaccination to begin worldwide in mid-2021, said WHO Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan.
"The world needs billions of doses, but it will take time. So, realistically, we will start sending vaccine to the population in mid-2021," Swaminathan noted.
According to her, the WHO is currently waiting for the final results of several tests. The organization intends to disseminate its production technologies further and start taking billions of doses of the drug.
