Nepal flood death toll reaches 1,399

The death toll from floods in Nepal has risen to 1,399.
According to Report, citing local media, Nepalese authorities announced the updated figure.
Earlier, 1,396 deaths had been reported. During search and rescue operations carried out throughout the day in eight affected districts, the bodies of three more people were found.
The natural disaster struck northern Nepal on the morning of August 26 and was triggered by a landslide. A powerful flow of rock debris traveled at high speed for more than 70 kilometers along the riverbed, causing a vast area to be flooded.
In China, 43 people were killed and 519 remain missing.
