WUF13 opens in Baku – PHOTOS

The 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) officially began today at the Baku Olympic Stadium, Report informs.

The forum, jointly organized by UN‑Habitat and the Government of Azerbaijan, will run until May 22. Hosting WUF13 positions Baku as one of the most important international platforms, once again drawing global attention to Azerbaijan.

With more than 40,000 participants from 182 countries registered, the event marks a record in the history of the forum, underscoring both its growing global influence and the strong international interest in Azerbaijan.

Special focus will be given to Azerbaijan's large‑scale reconstruction and urban development projects in Karabakh and East Zangazur, showcasing the country's vision for sustainable urbanization.

WUF13 also highlights Azerbaijan's expanding expertise in organizing major international events and its role in global cooperation platforms. The forum's presence in Baku strengthens the country's international reputation while presenting its policies on sustainable development and modern urban planning to the world.
