AIIB appoints a new director for Azerbaijan

Baku. 5 December. REPORT.AZ/ Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) appointed a new director for Azerbaijan.
Report informs, new regional governor is a Turkish citizen Ömer Ethem Bayar.
In addition to Azerbaijan, Ö.Bayar is also Director for Brunei, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and Turkey.
Notably, earlier, Turkish official Hakan Tokaç served at this post.
The AIIB has two alternate directors, one of them is Pakistani Amar Hamid Khan and the other Azerbaijani Konul Aliyeva.
Notably, on June 29, 2015, 57 countries signed an agreement in Beijing for establishment of the AIIB. On the Azerbaijani side, Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov signed the agreement. Membership of Baku was ratified on June 24, 2016.
