Pakistan negotiating Preferential Trade Agreements with Azerbaijan

Pakistan is negotiating Preferential Trade Agreements (PTAs) with Azerbaijan, said Abdul Razak Dawood, adviser to Prime Minister for Commerce and Investment, Report informs citing Pakistan Today.
Besides Azerbaijan, the same agreement is also being discussed with Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, he said.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan-Uzbekistan Transit Trade Agreement was signed in 2021 in Tashkent. Transit Trade Agreements are also being negotiated with other countries.
Thanks to the Silk Route Reconnect initiative, Pakistan’s exports to the Central Asian republics in 2020-2021 increased by 39.42% to reach $145 million, from $104 million of exports in 2019-2020, he said.
