Türkiye's Security Council to discuss South Caucasus

Türkiye's National Security Council will discuss the situation in the South Caucasus during a meeting chaired by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on August 6, according to TRT Haber, cited by Report.

The agenda will also include the Terror-Free Türkiye bill submitted to the Turkish Grand National Assembly, as well as the latest developments in the disarmament process of the former PKK terrorist organization and intelligence reports from the field.

The council is expected to review Türkiye's counterterrorism efforts alongside a range of regional and international security issues.

Diplomatic initiatives related to the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran will also be discussed, together with a comprehensive assessment of maritime security in the Black Sea.

Other topics on the agenda include recent developments in Cyprus, the situations in Syria and Iraq, Israel's military operations in the region, the course of the Russia-Ukraine war, and developments in several African countries.
