Trump says he reached deal with Putin on Russian diesel fuel supplies

US President Donald Trump said that an agreement had been reached following his phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on large-scale supplies of Russian diesel fuel to the US and global markets.

According to Report, Trump described the conversation as "highly successful" in a post on his Truth Social platform.

He said Russia would immediately supply more than 300,000 tonnes of diesel fuel, followed by another 500,000 tonnes in November and an additional 1 million tonnes thereafter.

Trump added that, given the state of Russia's oil refineries, the country would supply a further 3 million tonnes of diesel fuel within a short period.

The US president expressed confidence that these supplies, together with what he described as full US control over the Strait of Hormuz, would lead to a rapid and substantial decline in diesel prices both in the United States and worldwide.

He stressed that lowering fuel costs for Americans, particularly farmers, ranchers and truck drivers, was one of his top priorities.

Trump concluded that the announcement was very important and significant, adding that Iran would not be allowed to have nuclear weapons.
