If the events in Ukraine affect Moldova, we will have to ask for help from neighboring countries, said Moldovan Parliament Speaker Igor Gross, Report informs, citing TASS.
"Moldova does not have an army ready for battle. Therefore, we will ask for help from neighboring nations if this happens. No investment has been made in the military over the past 30 years, but we must do our best to protect our country and defend it with the available resources," Gross said.
He added that Romania and Ukraine are not interested in the deterioration of the situation in Moldova: "Both Bucharest and Kyiv understand our position. They do not want another hotbed of war."
A series of terrorist attacks took place in Transnistria last week. Earlier, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that there was no threat to the state's security.
