Over 5,000 people detained in Kazakhstan riots

Law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan have detained 5,135 people who took part in the riots in several regions of the country, the Kazakhstani Internal Affairs Ministry said, Report informs via TASS.
Acting Interior Minister Yerlan Turgumbayev said on Khabar 24 TV that 125 pre-trial investigations had been started on the facts of murders, violence against government officials, robberies, hooliganism, and thefts.
During the riots in Kazakhstan, 16 police officers, the National Guard and military personnel were killed, and over 1,300 others were injured.
