CMG provides Azerbaijani journalists with more than 10 documentary films

China Media Group (CMG) has provided Azerbaijani journalists with more than 10 cultural documentary films as part of efforts to develop audiovisual and cultural exchanges between the two countries, CMG Director of the Audiovisual Translation and Production Center Wang Lu said at an event dedicated to the premiere of the documentary film "Guardian of Heritage."

"We hope that these audiovisual programs produced by our corporation will serve as a bridge for the mutual enrichment of civilizations and cultural exchange between our countries," she said.

Wang Lu noted that the film "Xi Jinping's Cultural Commitment" was the first CMG audiovisual production to be translated into Azerbaijani.

According to her, the film tells the story of the preservation and development of China's cultural heritage. It showcases Xi Jinping's approach to protecting cultural heritage and maintaining historical continuity.

She also said that the programs provided include films about the development of Chinese cities, artificial intelligence, traditional crafts, robot manufacturing, Chinese history, traditional Chinese medicine, tea culture and cuisine.

Wang Lu emphasized that China and Azerbaijan share deep historical and cultural ties.

"There is an old proverb in Azerbaijan: 'A branch that forgets its roots is doomed to wither.' China has a similar saying: ‘A tree without roots withers, and water without a source runs dry.' This confirms our shared deep commitment to preserving our roots in both great civilizations," she said.

She added that the premiere of the film was the result of joint efforts by both sides and expressed hope for further strengthening contacts and cooperation between the media of the two countries.
