Iran says it is responsible for demining Strait of Hormuz

Responsibility for demining the Strait of Hormuz lies with Iran, Report informs, citing Fars.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi made the statement.
He also proposed a new solution for the passage of ships from the Strait of Hormuz to Oman but did not disclose details.
According to him, Tehran does not intend to violate Oman's sovereignty but will defend its right to control the Strait of Hormuz by all means, without taking the alternative southern route into account.
Gharibabadi also clarified once again that Iran and the United States are not currently holding talks under the Islamabad agreement.
On July 18, Gharibabadi announced that Iran had suspended the implementation of its obligations under the Islamabad memorandum.
