Iran completely switches to self-sufficiency of Air Force with combat drones

Iran has achieved 100% self-sufficiency in supplying its Air Force with combat UAVs, Commander of the Iranian Air Force Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi said, Report informs citing TASS.

“We have achieved 100 percent self-sufficiency in the field of unmanned aircraft, but we must not stop in these efforts, because a stop in this area leads to a lag,” Vahedi, who visited the Iranian Air Force base in Tabriz (East Azerbaijan Province), was quoted by the ISNA news agency. “We have made good progress in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles, the Air Force has purchased two very valuable drones - Kaman-12 and Kaman-22. We are one of the first in the region in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles. Our capabilities are growing every day, and we will hear good news in this area soon.”

The commander of the Iranian Air Force also noted the success of the country’s defense industry in the modernization of radars on combat aircraft, the production of precision bombs, long-range missiles and air-to-air missiles.
