Greenland should be under US control, not Denmark's, US President Donald Trump said during a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, Report informs.

Trump said the island was important to the United States.

He also noted that Chinese and Russian vessels were positioned around the island.
