Zakharova: Russia intends to comply with Gyumri base agreements

Russia intends to comply with existing agreements governing the deployment of its military base in Gyumri and expects Armenia to take the same approach, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing, Report informs via TASS.

She noted that the presence of the Russian military contingent in Armenia is regulated by bilateral agreements.

"The presence of the Russian contingent in Armenia is regulated by the relevant bilateral agreements. For our part, we intend to comply with them, and we expect the official Yerevan to take the same approach," Zakharova said.

Earlier, Deputy Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Vahagn Aleksanyan said Armenia had received no notification from Russia about any intention to withdraw the 102nd Russian military base in Gyumri from the country.
