WHO: Global COVID death toll grows 8% in 1 week

More than 3 million people have contracted coronavirus infection in the world over the past week, over 50,000 of them have died, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), Report informs citing TASS.
The number of new infection cases has increased in seven days by 3%, and the number of deaths rose by 8%.
In the week from October 25 to 31, the number of new cases in the world increased slightly (by 3%) compared to the previous week. In total, more than 3 million cases were registered, according to the WHO epidemic bulletin.
Europe accounts for almost 60% of new infection cases. For seven days, it reported a 6% increase in incidence. Meanwhile, a 3% increase was recorded in American countries and 2% increase in Western Pacific region.
