Ukraine sees cooperation with Azerbaijan as part of its broader efforts to deepen engagement with the South Caucasus and Central Asia, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said.
According to Report's Eastern Europe bureau, Sybiha made the remarks at a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Kyiv.
He said the two ministers had discussed expanding cooperation in the transport sector, including the prospects of the Middle Corridor.
Sybiha noted that closer engagement with the South Caucasus and Central Asia was important for Ukraine, adding that these trade routes were also linked to the country's cooperation with the European Union.
He said Ukraine was interested in advancing this direction and that the two sides had discussed ways to further deepen transport cooperation.
