Ukraine is interested in diversifying energy supplies from Azerbaijan and has prepared a package of proposals for the Azerbaijani side, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said during a joint press conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Kyiv.
According to Report's Eastern Europe bureau, Sybiha said bilateral relations had a strategic dimension, both in terms of ongoing projects and future prospects, highlighting energy, infrastructure, and humanitarian cooperation as key areas.
He noted that Azerbaijani businesses had long maintained an active presence in Ukraine and said Kyiv would welcome further expansion of Azerbaijani investment. Sybiha added that Ukraine had prepared a package of proposals for its Azerbaijani partners and was interested in diversifying the country's energy supplies through cooperation with Azerbaijan.
The Ukrainian foreign minister also described Azerbaijan as a strong and developing country that plays an important role in the region, saying its voice in efforts to end the war carries significant weight.
He further said Azerbaijan's role was strategic not only for Ukraine but for Europe's overall energy security, expressing confidence that the two countries' joint efforts would produce substantial results and further strengthen bilateral cooperation.
