Lebanese President Joseph Aoun stated that Beirut will continue all efforts to achieve security and peace in the Middle East, the Lebanese Presidency wrote on X, Report informs.
Aoun noted that Lebanon continues to appeal to international organizations to increase humanitarian aid for citizens in the country's southern regions.
"Diplomacy is war without blood, while war brings blood, destruction, and chaos. Therefore, by firmly defending our rights, we decided to participate in negotiations between the conflicting parties. The priority is to stop attacks on Lebanon, withdraw Israeli forces, and secure the return of prisoners. Only then, after years of war and devastation, can we speak of peace," the Lebanese leader said.
He stressed that negotiations do not mean concessions to Israel or Lebanon's surrender, but are necessary for resolving problems.
"In this situation, it is vital for Lebanese citizens to stand by their state, because they are tired of these wars. My duty is to make every effort to achieve security and peace for Lebanon," he added.
