The Netherlands has announced a five-week lockdown until January 19 next year for a novel coronavirus infection, Report informs.
Prime Minister Mark Rutte noted that the population of the country were obliged to isolate:
"COVID-19 restrictions will come into force on December 15. Shops (excluding grocery stores), schools, and universities will be closed. We urge the people not to leave their homes unnecessarily and to refuse to receive guests."
The Netherlands has recorded 632,024 coronavirus cases. As many as 10,168 patients died while receiving treatment.
