"Currently, Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has 38 dogs," Azer Huseynov, an expert on internal control of operations of ANAMA's Horadiz Regional Office, told journalists dispatched to Fuzuli.
According to him, 20 of these dogs act as mine detection dogs:
"The selection center opened at ANAMA's Goygol Regional Training Center breeds dogs for our use. Our local instructors train these dogs as mine dogs. It takes two years for a dog to be born, mature, and prepared. In addition to mine detection dogs at ANAMA, four dogs were trained to search for explosives. These dogs are mainly used in search of explosives in destroyed houses and abandoned cars."
