Azerbaijan, 5 other countries ink protocol on CASCA+ route development

Railway administrations of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, and Türkiye have signed a six-party protocol on the further development of the CASCA+ international multimodal route, Report informs citing the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.

The document was signed following a meeting of the heads of railway administrations of the six countries, which took place on October 7–8 in Tashkent.

The parties discussed increasing freight traffic along the route, introducing competitive tariffs for cargo transportation in refrigerated containers, ensuring the regular provision of fitting platforms along the entire route, and reducing container downtime in ports.

The protocol seals the agreements reached and defines priority areas for further cooperation.
