Second mine explosion in Jabrayil injures father of earlier victim

A second mine explosion has occurred in Azerbaijan's Jabrayil district, injuring the father of a man who had been wounded in an earlier mine incident.

According to Report, the information was issued jointly by the press services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).

The second mine explosion occurred on October 8, 2026, in the territory of Daghmashanli village in the liberated Jabrayil district.

Earlier, Orkhan Ashraf oglu Gahramanov had been injured after stepping on a mine in the area. His father, Ashraf Elman oglu Gahramanov, born in 1966, subsequently entered the same area and was injured in an anti-personnel mine explosion.

The Jabrayil District Prosecutor's Office is investigating the incident.

ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General's Office once again urged citizens to observe safety rules, pay close attention to mine warning signs, avoid touching suspicious objects, refrain from entering unfamiliar areas and not interfere with fenced-off zones.
