Pakistan, just like Azerbaijan, believes that wars and conflicts can be resolved peacefully, rather than militarily, Mosharraf Zaidi, the Pakistani Prime Minister's Spokesperson for Foreign Media and political expert, said in an interview with Report at the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
"This approach is the fundamental policy of our peoples and states. During the liberation of Karabakh from occupation, the Pakistani state consistently stood by Azerbaijan and provided support, because Azerbaijan restored its violated rights. Similarly, Azerbaijan supports us in the Indian-Pakistani conflict because it defends justice. Therefore, I would say that these relations differ from ordinary interstate ties. These are special relations, and their name is brotherhood. Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan is consistently developing in all areas, and both sides are interested in expanding this cooperation," he noted.
Zaidi expressed confidence that the fraternal relations between Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Pakistan will continue forever: "We all witnessed another warm meeting between our heads of state at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, organized by Türkiye. This demonstrates the steadfastness of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan-Pakistan triangle."
The spokesperson also noted that Pakistan is mediating the conflict between the US and Israel, on the one hand, and Iran, on the other: "This war is one of the major issues of grave concern on a global scale and entails grave consequences for our region, both economically and otherwise. In this regard, the peace initiatives of countries such as Pakistan, Türkiye, and Egypt deserve high praise. We hope that these efforts will yield positive results, that peace and stability will be achieved, and that economic prosperity will be restored."
