Ilham Aliyev: Mutual trade with Moldova is minimal

“I think we should also strengthen the activities of the joint intergovernmental commission. A new meeting of the commission should be held. Because the members of the commission have not met for almost a decade. I checked some reports and saw that mutual trade is minimal,” President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said during a meeting with President of Moldova Maia Sandu in Brussels on December 15, Report informs.

“I think there is potential to increase it. But for this, as you said, the business community must come together. If there is a commission meeting, they can also make presentations on potential investment opportunities, the business environment, so that we can increase the level of mutual trade. I think we can identify a lot of goods that we can offer each other. As you know, we are actively working with European institutions on energy cooperation. Cooperation with EU member states and access to new markets are of great importance to us. Therefore, I think we will find common ground on this issue,” Ilham Aliyev said.
