Minister: 230 hectares of greenhouses planned in Azerbaijan's liberated lands

Azerbaijan plans to establish 230 hectares of greenhouse facilities in its liberated territories, Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov said, according to Report's correspondent in Aghdam.

Mammadov made the remarks during a panel discussion themed State Support Mechanisms in the Agricultural Sector, held as part of the 100th Jubilee Agribusiness Festival.

He noted that expanding greenhouse production has been identified as a priority to increase the output of higher-value agricultural products.

"We are not talking about conventional greenhouses, but about the expansion of intensive greenhouses equipped with modern technologies. Unlike previous approaches, this program aims to develop greenhouse projects primarily within agricultural and industrial zones. One of the projects envisages the establishment of a unified greenhouse zone covering 230 hectares in the liberated territories. At the next stage, greenhouse development will also be expanded to other regions of the country," the minister said.
