Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin has said cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus is developing at a high level, Report's correspondent in Minsk informs.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Azerbaijan's First Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov.
Turchin noted that the Azerbaijan-Belarus Intergovernmental Commission plays an important role in promptly resolving issues that arise.
"The effectiveness of our commission's work can be assessed by its results. All issues that arise are resolved precisely at the commission level. We do not need to raise these matters to the level of prime ministers or heads of state," the Belarusian head of government said.
According to him, Belarus and Azerbaijan are linked by reliable friendly relations built over many years, and Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Aleksandr Lukashenko have played a special role in strengthening these ties.
Turchin stressed that implementing the agreements reached between the two countries is one of the main tasks facing the governments. He said most of the projects under discussion are already being implemented or are at the implementation stage.
The prime minister noted that joint production enterprises established in Azerbaijan contribute to the development of cooperation. According to him, cooperation in elevator production, mechanical engineering and other industrial sectors is continuing successfully.
Turchin particularly emphasized cooperation in the field of municipal equipment, noting the importance of projects being implemented in Azerbaijan for the production and supply of garbage trucks, fire engines and other special-purpose equipment.
The Belarusian prime minister said discussions held as part of the Belagro 2026 exhibition and the meeting of the intergovernmental commission would create opportunities to shape new projects and new areas of cooperation between the two countries.
