Azerbaijan's trade turnover with Türkiye falls by 3%

In January–July of 2026, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Türkiye amounted to just over $3.28 billion, Report informs, referring to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.

According to the latest data, this marks a decrease of 3%, or nearly $104 million, compared to the same period last year.

For 7 months, Azerbaijan's exports to Türkiye dropped by 2.9% year-on-year (YoY), amounting to nearly $1.95 billion, while imports from Türkiye fell by 3.2% YoY, exceeding $1.33 billion.

During the reporting period, trade with Türkiye accounted for 11.2% of Azerbaijan's total turnover. Of this, exports to Türkiye made up 10% of total exports, while imports from Türkiye represented 13.4% of total imports.

In total, Azerbaijan conducted foreign trade operations worth $29.216 billion in the first seven months of 2026, marking a 1.3% YoY increase. Of this, $19.336 billion came from exports and $9.881 billion from imports. Year‑on‑year, exports rose by 27%, while imports dropped by 27.4%.

As a result, a trade surplus of $9.455 billion was recorded during this period, which is 5.9 times higher than in the same period last year.
