Armenian PM promised to cooperate on humanitarian issues, Bayramov says

At a meeting with the Presidents of France Emmanuel Macron and the President of the European Council Charles Michel, the Prime Minister of Armenia promised to cooperate on humanitarian issues, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said, Report informs.

According to Bayramov, these issues were discussed at a quadripartite meeting in a video format with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, French President Emmanuel Macron, European Council President Charles Michel and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on February 4:

“The discussions were mainly on humanitarian issues. Using this platform, the President of Azerbaijan raised the issue of the lack of information about the fate of 3,890 people since the First Karabakh War, and the fact that Armenia conceals this information, refuses to cooperate in this direction in gross violation of the norms of international law and the principles of humanism."

According to the minister, in general, the discussions could be considered positive.

“Surprisingly, a few days later, the Armenian Foreign Ministry made a dubious and contradictory statement that defies any logic and contradicts the principle of humanism and international law,” he added.

The foreign minister stressed that Azerbaijan is showing an example for Armenia:

“Azerbaijan has been working with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) since the end of the 44-day war. As a result, the bodies of 1,709 Armenian servicemen were found and handed over to the Armenian side. The military operation ended in November 2020. In the winter months that followed, the search operations were carried out under difficult weather conditions, in the mountains, in mined areas. Azerbaijani servicemen also took part in this work. However, even after 30 years, Armenia does not take any measures, trying to present everything in a distorted way.”
