Andoni Iraola appointed as new Liverpool head coach

Andoni Iraola has been appointed as the new head coach of English club Liverpool F.C., replacing Arne Slot.

"We can confirm an agreement with Andoni Iraola for him to take over as head coach of the club for the 2026/2027 season," the club said in a post on X, according to Report.

Iraola spent three seasons in charge of AFC Bournemouth, where the club had reportedly been keen to extend his contract. However, the 43-year-old Spaniard opted not to renew his expiring deal. According to Sky Sports, the appointment follows Bournemouth's best-ever Premier League finish under his management last season.

Arne Slot was dismissed by Liverpool"s management on May 30. He had succeeded Jürgen Klopp two years ago and led the Reds to a Premier League title in his debut campaign.

However, Liverpool's performances declined in his second season despite significant investment in the squad, prompting the club to make a managerial change.
