Azerbaijan sees deficit in current account balance

The current account balance of Azerbaijan showed a deficit of $227.6 million in 2020, while it produced a surplus of AZN 4,364,900,000 in 2019, Report informs, with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
The annual deficit was formed by a surplus of AZN 2,511,600,000 in foreign trade balance (a 3.4-fold decrease in comparison with a year earlier), a deficit of AZN 2,840,700,000 in the balance of services (+ 8.6%), a deficit of AZN 456.3 million in the balance of primary incomes (-4.5-fold), and AZN 557.8 million-surplus in the balance of secondary incomes (+9.7%).
