Azerbaijan starts supplying tomatoes to Bulgaria

Azerbaijan exported 135,641 tons of tomatoes worth $163.85 million in January-June this year.
According to Report's calculations based on data from the State Statistical Committee, the value of tomato exports increased by 10% compared with the same period last year, while export volumes declined by 1%.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 127,212 tons of tomatoes worth $152.4 million to Russia, representing a 7.5% increase in value and a 2% decline in volume year-on-year.
Exports to Belarus amounted to 2,402 tons worth $5.75 million, up 15% in value and 5.7% in volume.
Azerbaijan also exported 3,810 tons worth $2.7 million to Georgia, with both the value and volume increasing 2.7 times and 2.8 times, respectively.
Exports to Ukraine reached 1,175 tons worth $1.4 million, increasing eightfold in value and sevenfold in volume.
Meanwhile, tomato exports to Poland totaled 737 tons worth $1.2 million, rising 22% in value and 15% in volume.
For the first time in the past 16 years, Azerbaijan also supplied tomatoes to Bulgaria this year. Exports amounted to 17.9 tons worth $19,200.
