A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck Mexico's southern state of Chiapas, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), cited by Report.
The earthquake occurred 122 kilometers southwest of the city of Tapachula, which has a population of more than 200,000. The epicenter was located at a depth of 10 kilometers.
No information on casualties or damage has been reported.
