Georgia increases spending on fuel imports from Azerbaijan by 27%

Georgia imported $234.2 million worth of fuel and lubricants from Azerbaijan in January-July 2026.

According to Report's calculations based on data from Georgia's National Statistics Office, this was 27% more than in the same period last year.

Thus, Azerbaijan ranked second among the countries supplying fuel and lubricants to Georgia.

In July alone, Georgia purchased $26.2 million worth of fuel and lubricants from Azerbaijan, up 3.2% from a year earlier.

During the seven months of 2026, Georgia imported $1.59 billion worth of fuel and lubricants from foreign countries, 51.5% more than in the same period of 2025.

During the reporting period, Georgia imported $740.4 million worth of such products from Russia, $150.7 million from Türkiye, $130.8 million from Romania and $56.6 million from Belarus.

In 2025, Georgia purchased $1.6 billion worth of fuel and lubricants from abroad, of which $145 million came from Azerbaijan.
