Heavy rain, thunderstorms forecast in parts of Azerbaijan on October 9 - WARNING

Heavy rain is expected in some parts of Azerbaijan on October 9.

According to Report, citing the National Hydrometeorological Service, intermittent rain is forecast in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula from the daytime on October 9 until the evening of October 10.

In some areas, the rain may be torrential and accompanied by thunderstorms, while intense and heavy rainfall is possible from the evening of October 9 through the morning of October 10.

Unstable and intermittently rainy weather is also expected in the regions of Azerbaijan from the daytime on October 9 until the evening of October 10.

In some places, the rain may be intense and torrential, with thunderstorms and hail possible. Snow is expected in mountainous areas, while precipitation may briefly intensify in some eastern regions during the daytime on October 10.

The expected rainfall may increase water levels in rivers, and short-term floods and mudflows cannot be ruled out on some rivers in the Greater and Lesser Caucasus, the Lankaran-Astara region and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
