Azerbaijan reduces wheat import costs by 20%

In January-September this year, 792,331 tons of wheat were imported to Azerbaijan, Report informs referring to the State Customs Committee.
The cost of wheat in this volume amounted to $210.742 million.
Compared to the same period last year, this is 48,131 tons (6.5%) more in quantitative terms and $51.324 million (19.6%) less in value terms.
During the reporting period, the price of one ton of imported wheat was $266. This is 24.4% less than for the same period in 2022.
Over eight months, wheat import costs amounted to 1.7% of Azerbaijan’s total import costs.
