Netherlands nominates Klaas Knot for ECB president

The Netherlands has nominated former Dutch central bank chief Klaas Knot for the post of European Central Bank, ECB, president after Christine Lagarde's term ends, Report informs, citing Bloomberg.

Bloomberg said this, citing a representative of the Dutch Finance Ministry.

The ministry representative noted that Knot is also highly qualified for other key positions that may become vacant in the coming months, but did not specify which posts were being discussed.

Knot headed the Dutch central bank from 2011 to 2025 and previously held various positions in financial policy.
