Minimum wage rise to cover 800,000 people

The next stage of reforms to ensure civil welfare has begun in Azerbaijan, Report informs.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, a new decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev increases the minimum wage from 250 to 300 manats.
The order will be effective from January 1, 2022. In general, the increase in the minimum wage will apply to 800,000 people.
The current salaries of 400,000 public sector and 400,000 private sector employees will rise from January.
The annual additional financial cost for the growth in the minimum wage is 460 million manats.
Over the past three years, the minimum monthly wage in Azerbaijan has been increased 2.3 times from 130 to 300 manats.
