Türkiye detains 1,613 suspects in organized crime operations

A total of 1,613 suspects have been detained in Türkiye as part of operations against criminal organizations, Justice Minister Akın Gürlek said.
According to Report, Gürlek announced the results in a post on X.
The minister said 151 operations had been carried out across the country under the coordination of 78 Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices.
"A total of 1,613 suspects have been detained, while arrest orders have been issued for 618 suspects," he said.
During searches, authorities seized 199 firearms, 9,039 rounds of ammunition and shells, two hand grenades, 10,520 synthetic drugs and narcotic pills, as well as around 37.25 kilograms of narcotics.
Investigations also identified financial transactions totaling 26.9 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to around 940.53 million manats ($553.3 million).
In addition, 408 bank accounts, 35 properties, 31 vehicles and 10 companies were seized.
Gürlek said efforts to detain suspects who had evaded the operations, as well as other investigative measures, were continuing.
