Landing ship TCG ANADOLU to soon enter service with Turkish Navy

The flagship of the Turkish Navy, the landing ship TCG ANADOLU, will enter service with the country’s naval forces on April 10, head of the Turkish Defense Industry Department Ismail Demir said, Report informs referring to Anadolu Agency.

He noted that the delivery of military ships is planned within 36 months.

Demir noted that work on deploying Bayraktar TB3 strike drones aboard the country’s largest military vessel will be completed this year. In addition, Hürjet combat training aircraft will be able to land on the ship’s platform. At the same time, it is too early to talk about the placement of the Anka-3 strike UAVs, Demir noted.

The TCG Anadolu, created as part of the Multipurpose Landing Craft (LHD) project, is capable of deploying battalion-sized forces to destination areas without requiring additional support from the main bases.

The TCG Anadolu is 231 meters long and 32 meters wide. When fully equipped, it will weigh 27,436 tons.
