Hakan Fidan travels to Syria for working visit

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has arrived in Syria on a visit.

Report informs, citing TRT Haber, that Fidan is expected to meet with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani and be received by Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa during the visit.

The meetings will focus primarily on the dissolution of the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), as well as their integration into Syria's state institutions. The sides will also discuss the situation in southern Syria, Israeli strikes, and issues related to preserving the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty. The talks will also cover expanding cooperation in trade, energy and transport, as well as supporting Syria's economic recovery and restoring its regional transport links.
