US evacuated 88,000 people from Afghanistan

Since the US and coalition forces began the evacuation to date, approximately 88,000 have safely departed from Afghanistan, Pentagon representative Maj. Gen. Hank Taylor said at a briefing, Report informs.
“Our focus from a military perspective is going to be whenever - and - and right now, we’re - the - the plan is to end this mission on the 31st of August. I don’t want to suggest that that’s not what we’re planning on.
As we get there, as I said earlier, we want to preserve as much capability as long as we can to continue to conduct evacuations while safely removing our people and our equipment all at the same time,” he noted.
