Ireland outlines priorities for its EU Council presidency

Ireland, for the eighth time, has assumed the six-month presidency of the European Council starting July 1, Report informs, citing the country's representation to the EU.
The main priorities of Ireland's presidency will reportedly be strengthening the competitiveness of the European economy, protecting the bloc's values, and enhancing its security.
Dublin also intends to pay special attention to continued support for Ukraine, developing relations with key partners, including the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as advancing negotiations on the EU's long-term budget for 2028–2034.
The motto of the country's presidency will be the principle "Strength with Unity," reflecting the aspiration for coordinated action amid global instability, the statement notes.
In addition, for the first time in history, Ireland's presidency will fully utilize the Irish language as one of the working languages of EU institutions.
