MEDIA: 93.6% of respondents highly appreciates President Ilham Aliyev's performance

In Azerbaijan, 93.6% of respondents positively assessed President Ilham Aliyev's performance.

According to Report, citing the Media Development Agency (MEDIA), this was revealed in the results of a public opinion survey conducted in the first half of 2026 to study citizens' views on President Ilham Aliyev's activities and to analyze dynamics and trends in this area.

The survey results showed that public support for President Ilham Aliyev's political leadership and strategic actions remains at a high level.

Based on the findings, respondents' overall trust in President Ilham Aliyev stood at 87.7%. This indicates that nearly nine out of ten citizens expressed confidence in him.

The survey also confirmed that 93.6% of respondents evaluated the president's performance positively. One of the strongest indicators of trust and support is citizens' electoral behavior.

If presidential elections were held next Sunday, the vast majority of respondents – 91.5% – said they would vote for President Ilham Aliyev.

"The analysis of the survey results shows that the high level of confidence and trust in the President has been shaped not only by his reputation but also against the backdrop of maintaining internal stability. In this sense, the President is regarded in public opinion as a unifying figure within national interests and as an irreplaceable leader in terms of stability – 81.9% of respondents consider him an alternative‑free political leader. This view was observed across all socio‑demographic groups, with an upward trend compared to previous periods," the agency stated.

The public opinion survey was conducted from May 20 to May 30, 2026, through face‑to‑face interviews. A total of 1,210 respondents aged 18 and above participated. Their distribution by gender, age groups, education level, and economic regions was proportionally aligned with official statistics, ensuring representativeness.

The margin of error was ±3%.
